Arboretum Wednesday Wonders
Location: 4111 University Avenue
Time: Every Wednesday in spring and summer, volunteers work from 8:00am to Noon. In fall and winter, from 12:00 - 3:00pm

Description : Volunteers maintain the demonstration garden by "The Little Brick House" and also work in the wildflower garden and the garden by the chapel building.
Special Comments: Master Gardeners may claim volunteer hours for working th the Arboretum educational gardens or for helping with educational programs such as Garden Camp. They may not claim volunteer hours for serving on the Arboretum Board, Arboretum fund raising, or other non-educational programs. These can only be claimed as Arboretum hours.
Arboretum Garden Camp
Location: Lubbock Memorial Arboretum, 4111 University Avenue
Time: Usually held during Spring Break in March and in August. Camp runs for five days from 9:00-noon each day.

Description: Garden Camp is for children between the ages of six and twelve. They learn about gardening through hands on activities, such as planting seedlings, starting seeds, building a compost pile, etc. Volunteers use games, hands on activities, and crafts to teach about horticulture and the natural world.
Special Comments: This popular camp provides a great opportunity to work with children. Volunteers may work for the entire camp or select specific days or hours to volunteer. Hours are counted as teaching hours.
